Co. A, 3rd Iowa Light Artillery was organized in Cedar Rapids and Waterloo, in early 2002. The unit's namesake participated in the advance on Springfield, Missouri and in actions at Sugar Creek, Helena, Little Rock and the Battle of Pea Ridge.
