Co. B, 20th Iowa Volunteer Infantry

Co. B, 20th Iowa Volunteer Infantry was organized by Pvt. Larry Roach in the Mason City area, in late 2001. The unit served as official color guard at the 2002 Iowa Dept. SUVCW Encampment in Waterloo.

The unit's namesake fought in the Battle of Prairie Grove, guarded the St. Louis Arsenal and was the first to plant a Union Flag in the fort, concluding the Siege of Vicksburg.
